  1. I say not to stress yourself out. Boys normally take longer than girls to potty train. You will know when he's ready because he will tell you, or start taking his diaper off when it gets wet. It's just too stressful for you to try and potty train him right now, especially if you are going to give birth next week.

  4. boys take longer than girls. sometimes they are not ready until 3 or 4. maybe it would be good for him to go with daddy to the bathroom, is might spur him along. Or you can wait til he starts telling you to change his diaper. That is usually the clue and it happens faster at the stage.

  5. update- i started to try to potty train him because if he pees his diaper he will take it off or bring you a clean one and say butt butt.. or say I peed, i thought that ment he was ready but he refuses to go on the potty , he will however pee out side standing up or in the bathtub, he finds that just too funny.

  6. As the mommy of a 6 and 2 year old little boy, don't stress (trying to follow my own words as well). My oldest was trained really early, so I assumed it would happen with my youngest. Boy was I wrong. The little guy has NO interest in the world, so waiting a little longer. Good luck and congratulations in advance on the new little one :)

  7. My boys all were potty trained one their own time schedules, and all by 3. Do not stress and the fact of a new sibling could make him regress a bit anyway, so I would say wait.

  8. Teach him that when he pees in the toilet, he creates bubbles and can try and pop them with his pee.

    They like bubbles... it works.

    Happy Aloha Friday!

  9. Like the rest, I agree that boys take longer. But make it fun! Put a Fruit Loop in the toilet for him to aim at!

  10. I'm still trying to train my almost 3 year-old son. He's getting there, slowly but surely. It took awhile for us because my two are close in age so it made it a bit tougher. But I think patience is the key and then somehow, someday it just clicks and they get it. Good luck!

  11. They usually get it by age 3 or 3 1/2 . don't try to get it done before the baby or you'll just stress more.

    Go with the flow love

  12. I would wait. After the birth of my twins, my daughter totally regressed after months of training. Now that they're 4 months old, I am back into full time (no more pull-ups during the day at all) mode. I thing what's working best for her is to have her be basically nakad from the waist down or wearing underwear. I have to push her at times but it's working! Good luck!!

  13. Try having him aim at a cheerio. My kids got a kick out of that.

  14. The best advice I've ever heard is to let kids "potty train themselves" when they are ready. That way they want to be successful :)
