An Island Life

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question this week is.. IF you could go back and ask 3 questions to some one who passed or tell them something what would it be???
Yesterday would have been my dads  55th birthday , I miss him SO much even though it has been almost FIVE yrs since he passed away on my wedding day. There is still so much I would love to ask him but most of all I wish he could have met and spoiled his grand-kids. my father in law are my kids only grandpa and he is " not in to birthdays" as he says so he NEVER comes to a birthday party unless it was at his house then he was only there by default.. THIS PISSES ME OFF.. you couldn't have kept my daddy away from one.. My father in law is also not into Christmas or any other family type holiday.. my dad was. and i feel sometimes like my kids are being cheated out of what i had growing up cause my father in law wants to be an asshole..oh enough ranting.. hope you all have good weekend.. enjoy it.

  1. If I could, I would go back and see my Nana and Papa. They never met my husband and I wish they had. So many things I did not know/learn about their family before they passed away so young.

  2. I would like to go back and ask my mom a ton of questions. She died when I was 18 and I never got to really know her.

  3. I have a lot of question to ask my mom about her childhood.

    Have a great Friday!

  4. If I could go back (and I so wish I could). I would first spend much more time with my grandparents. When I was little I spent a lot of time with them, but when I got to be a teenager I blew them off:( I would ask about their younger years and write everything down. Plus, if only we had the photography we have now...then. We hardly have any pictures. I would take pictures of everything around their farm, chickens, pets, gathering eggs, playing school with them. At least in my mind I can still see all those things. Tears**

  5. Well that a sad one for me.. I miss my Mom so much. I would have love to ask her more about the early years.. and then write it down to remember it.
    My Friday link for you

  6. I would go back and apologize for my rebellion to all those like my dad, and grandparents who saw the good when I was really really bad

  7. wow thats sad Misty! I would love to talk to my Dad!I would ask him who killed him and if he knew Jesus as his savior! He was killed the day before my 16 b/d and even thought it has been a loong time,I still miss him!!!Hugs!
