making your home sing Monday

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to the Making Your Home Sing Monday meme! Every day you are doing something to make your house into a home for yourself and your family (if you have one). My point with each Monday post is, what are you doing or going to do today to make your home sing?

So you know how last week I was ranting and raving about my useless sister.. well Monday I was in the Hospital with preterm labor and resleased to home on COMPLETE BEDREST.. well sometime in the night my sister up and left with two friends for a road trip to texas.. with no money and KNOWING i needed help.. SO while my week has been met with many challenges of how to figure out how to juggle two kids and a household while on complete bed rest I think I did pretty well (well expect for that trip back to the hospital for MORE contractions) and have thoroughly enjoyed her being GONE.. I dont know when she will be back but I is amazing how much more peaceful my house has been. Ive kept it clean NO PROBLEM doing minimal work each day and with hubby's semi useless help..So my home is Singing LOUDLY.. and I am so relaxed with out her here it . It has come clear to me and hubby it is time for her to "spread her wings and fly" to her own nest.. I have felt so much better this week with out her here..that sounds so mean but I aint running a homeless shelter for moochers.. I am goin to present her with the NEW rules and list of things that MUST be done everyday to keep things to MY standards and give her a time limit on how long she has to find a job and her own place.. I cant just throw her ass out in the street it is late fall in Arkansas after all..(not that it wouldn't feel great) lol. I believe in helping those who help them selves but if you cant help your self then NEITHER can I .. I only have a few dish's to wash . two loads of laundry to wash , two loads to put away and the wood floors to sweep and mop.. that might take me an hour so i will try to stretch it out through out the day and if the laundry dont get put away there is always tomarrow.. Im not goin to over do it for a pile of clean laundry .. (p.s. have I mentions I HATE LAUNDRY) hope ya'lls home is singing .

  1. Well, don't work to hard and glad your home is singing! I remember being on bedrest when my oldest was four and I pregnant. It is hard to watch a young child (or two) and be on bedrest!

I think it'll be good for you and your sis to have some boundaries and an understanding. That way, she will know what you expect of her and it will also encourage her in her desire to get a job and take care of herself.

  2. Ah, Mistie, isn't partial bedrest fun? I was on it with Buttercup and had an 7-year old and a 2-year old at the time. You'll get through this. I urge you to take a deep breath and keep your criticisms constructive rather than personal as you handle the issue of your sister. Personal slights just get in the way of the change you're trying to encourage. I know pregnancy can make you cranky (you don't wnat to know the word Superman uses to describe me when pregnant), but it is better for everyone if you can hold on to your temper and triumph over pregnancy hormones. As for your husband, his help is valuable, even if he doesn't do things the way you'd do them. He's showing his love and caring by supporting the family and supporting you as best he can. If Daddy adds his voice to the chorus, your house will really be rocking.
